Hey everyone.

I'm in the market for some new memory to use in an oc system & I'm wondering if people would kindly post the brand they use, its stated speed, the speed your running it, the timings you're using and the voltage you're using. I don't necessarily trust the review sites when they say they've been able to run PC2100 at PC3000, so I thought I'd get some real-world info from you all. Of course, my motivation is get the most bang for the buck 🙂 Please post anything else you think would be useful to know in order to compare them! Thanks.

Im using Mushkin 512 stick of 'level 2' stuff, rated for 266mhz 2-2-2-6-2t @2.5v, Ive run it as high as 400mhz 2.5-3-3-7-2t @2.7v
Im currently running it at 300mhz 2-2-2-6-2t @2.7v (forgot to take the jumper off, will do that soon) and havent had any problems
It also does 333mhz 2-2-2-6-2t @2.7v as well with no problems
I just run the 300mhz because my 1.6a/P4S533 is at 150fsb and the 1:1 ratio is 300mhz 2-2-2 and the 4:5 ratio is 375mhz which wont do 2-2-2

Corsair 512MB XMS PC2700 cas2
@ DDR400 cas 2.5-3-3-7 vmem = 2.5V
Googlegear has this for 146
Newegg has it for 154

rig in the sig...

Crucial PC2100...will do 2-2-2-5 1T to 168FSB, 2.5-2-2-6 2T to 190FSB

I must have a really good stick...🙂

I'm getting the parts together for a 1.6A system which I'm planning on overclocking and will obviously need some good RAM that will be able to hit DDR400 (or even higher, if I'm lucky enough to get a "golden chip"). I'm trying to decide between Samsung Original PC2700 ($78 shipped), Mushkin PC3000 ($80 shipped), and Kingmax PC3200 ($70 shipped). Kingmax would seem to be the obvious choice since its guaranteed to hit DDR400 (plus whatever overclocking its capable of), but everybody is always saying how great Samsung is (though I've heard some complains about the new Samsung "D" RAM which is all they have at newegg now). So what do you guys think?

Rig in my sig;

Stated speed, 2-2-2-5-1T Command rate up to 166fsb (333mhz) gaurunteed to hit 185fsb (370mhz) @ 2-3-3-5-1T Command Rate, but here are my personal overclocking results;
Corsiar XMS PC3000 190fsb (380mhz effictively) Cas 2-2-3-5-1T Command Rate, 100% Stable, I would love to push 200fsb but I have a few devices that aren't happy above a 40mhz pci bus

P4-2.0A, ASUS P4S533, 512MB Mushkin PC3000 with the most conservative settings, 135 FSB, 4:6 CPU:Mem (DDR405, I figure). SiSandra mem bench 2827/2836. Memory voltage 2.7. At those settings, memory won't run faster, though CPU will get up to 137 FSB with 4:5 ratio. Stable at 2700 MHz, SuperPi @ 1M is 1:08.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate them and any others! CrazySaint, I've pretty much narrowed my choices to at the same memory as you & for the same reasons 🙂 The Kingmax 3200 looks to be pretty good if that speed is at aggressive timings...
