I think DDR ram is 182 pin. You said you currently use sdram which is different. You would need to upgrade your mobo as well. I'm still trying to figure out which mobo is the best, I wish I knew???

DDR ram is 184 pin DIMM. You need a DDR motherboard to use it. PC1600 (100mhz x2) is cheap enough. DDR is not worth buying a new Mobo and Ram for. However if you were in the market for Mobo AND ram then it could be worth it. If you don't need to buy right now you will be better of waiting for this DDR thing to mature a little.

If you are just looking for a bit more speed, and you don't want to spend a lot of cash, then just pick up another 128M PC133 stick.

Get more sd ram now and if you play games dump the matrox card and get a geforce 2 card. Your processor is plenty fast.

I second nippyjuns comments. I notice a nice little performace boost when I added a third 64Mpc100 . And If you want an MX I think a saw a thread in FS/FT wanting to trade a MX for a Matrox, or was it the other way around, who knows,I cant remember, I guess you can do a search if you are interestred

133 ram works fine at 100mhz. Think of the 133 as a max. Anything under that will work (well, it'll usually go a little over too but that's not important). Most people think the G400 is just getting a little dated thats all. If it serves you well then keep it and don't wory about it. If you need the dualhead and want something new though then both the GeForce2 MX and the Radeon VE offer this and would also serve you very well (since you're a Matrox fan the Radeon VE would probably be more up your alley but the GF2mx is a tad faster).
