One Pricewatch I saw three types of DDR RAM
- PC2400
- PC2100
- PC1600

It sounds stupid, but what are the differences. More specifically which ones are used for what? Thanks in advance.

I'm still a little new to the DDR thing so let me see if I get this right (correct me if I'm wrong!):

PC1600 - Used for a 100Mhz FSB CPU
PC2100 - Used for a 133Mhz FSB CPU
PC2400 - Used by people who are lucky enough to pump their FSB up VERY high! :D

It's the speed at which the memory is tested to run at. Assuming you are not overclocking, a system that uses a 100MHZ FSB (200MHZ CPU) T-Bird would be accessing the RAM at PC1600 speeds. A 133MHZ FSB T-Bird accesses at PC2100 speeds. There isn't anything out yet that natively uses PC2400 RAM but in theory, it should be able to overclock better than the PC2100 flavor. (Even tho none of us have much trouble overclocking our Crucial PC2100.)
