DDR ram heat spreaders

Ok here is my question I am going to be running a couple of boxes with DDR 2100 and 2700 ram in them at 100% CPU load for a week or so at a time. I have seen this ram offered with or without heatspreaders. Do I really need them?

IMHO you do not need them. My computers XP1800+ with 512mb PC2100 crucial, XP1600+ with 256mb PC2100 Crucial, and Athlon 1.0 (running at 1.3) with 128mb PC2100 crucial are all at 100% utilization all day. They run SETI non-stop. I never run into any problems with heat or any ram problems.
