DDR ram & Best Buy

As most of you know, Best Buy had Crucial PC2100 DDR ram for $25.00 before the end of the year. Of course prices have went up since then but that was a good deal at that time too.

I got a rain check from Best Buy for this DDR ram but they still don't have any according to the website. Do you think think will get any in and will they honor a rain check for $25.00 when prices are 79.00?

I am just wondering if I need to get my ram before prices go up any more. I have been waiting for BB to get some new stock.

"In Stock - Usually ships in 2-3 business days. Available for pickup at most stores." is what is says next to that item. Then when you go to check out, it says "available for delivery only", but still - available 🙂

If you want to heavily overclock, you can buy PC2400 or PC2700. Otherwise, this Crucial is fine.

u are asking for trouble if you trust the BB web site...

i have rain checks from 2 different stores, in 2 different cities, and both sold out. im sure most are sold out everywhere.

I had a rain check for something one time for almost a year and they took it no problem. I think it was for a hard drive. They will probably honor yours as well. BB is pretty good about stuff like that.
 
Well just went to one store that was supposed to have 3 but guess what, the computer was wrong.

I have one more to try ....
 
I just had to send this out ...

Went to a different Best Buy tonight and picked up 2 256 DDR sticks. I was not sure how it was going to come out since there was supposed to be a $10 MIR and a $15 instant rebate. I got up to the register and they rang up $89.99 and then she priced them to 24.99. 2 Crucial 256 DDR sticks for $54.xx. That rain check kicked arse! 🙂

Good thing I found this board or I would have never known about it ...

make sure they are the micron (MT) chips and not the samsung ones.
