DDR prices

So, why after all this time has the price of regular DDR ram not gone down? I took a look at the 2x1GB pack of Corsair XMS that I got a year and a half ago and its about the same price now as it was then.

Any reason for this? I figured it would have gone down significantly when DDR2 became mainstream.

Mostly, I would guess, because memory makers moved most of their production to DDR2.
