DDR prices going up, RAMBUS prices going down?

Everyone has noticed the increasing prices og DDR memory, but now one has mentioned the decreaseing prices of PC-1066 RDRAM

no one mentions it because its still a 30% premium for a 7% performance increase (Samsung 1066 vs Corsair XMS pc3200). I'm optimistic though. I bet (assuming the FCC investigation doesn't hurt RAMBUS) that by next spring, RAMBUS and DDR will be in direct competition for all systems (not just higher priced ones)

It seems that the premium is shrinking day by day. I bought 256MB of Crucial DDR in 11/01 for $29.67, now it's more than doubled

That 7% difference grows exponentially with time. In little time it does make a huge difference.

Agreed, DDRII and dual channel may change that though, and from what's been said, DDRII is not that far off.
