Damn, did not see that one coming.

<--- Spent $13 extra for 512MB PC2700 from Crucial. (and that was only last week)

Edit: Hmm, another Tori fan on these boards? Who knew?

I've been wanting to get me another 512 to bump me up to a gig also. Since I'm already splurging for a monitor though, I'll wait a little longer. :)

I want to get a gig of PC3500 sometime, that should be good enough for two new systems in the future :)

The 1024 TwinX 3200LL I picked up last week isn't going down any more I don't think :(

Its dropped ~$50 in the last 3 weeks, but I think its bottomed-out.

1024MB is great though, especially if you're using XP and apps. that can use lotsa memory (some games like BF1942 and SimCity4, multimedia apps).

looked at crucial webby and saw £66 for 512mb of pc2700, so tempting to make it up to 1gig, even though i'd be taking out a 256mb stick to fit it in, and dont exactly need it anyway. Upgrade-itis :p

otoh with the bits i have lying around, all i need is a mobo, a stick of ram and maybe a hdd (the 2.4gig old one didnt seem to work with this mobo) to have a spare 1600+xp box, although i havent found any excuse for having it, and plugging in a few wires could already give me a spare p200mmx :)o) box.

bah, stuff on the cheap i have no excuse to take advantage of :( :p

Man I hate the feeling that I bought something at its most valuable =|

got a stick of Kingston 2100 512 from newegg for $125 about 2 months ago cause I needed it in a pinch. And I consider myself a hot deal whore.

Now I see 512 pc2700 for $70.. sigh.

I hope they still go down, I wish 256MB Sticks went down farther. It would be cheaper for us to use Dual DDR.

Its sweet :)

1024MB makes a noticeable difference in a few games but also in many of the multimedia apps I run, and XP never hits my swap. Its nice having 800MB free system cache; XP left only ~300MB. Its more for future-proofing until DDR-II and 400mhz Barton or Canterwood; should last me about a year. My current issue is running my A7N8X-DLX above ~194 w/out my R9700pro going nuts. I've read a few sites and found that the AGP bus basically destabilizes ~200FSB, and the 9700pro has a pretty low fault tolerance for out-of-spec AGP. It should be fixed with a BIOS update or a few mods I'm looking into, but right now I'm running 193 @ cas2-5-2-2-1T :D
