From Crucial.com........

DDR PC1600 ? CL=2 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 64

or

DDR PC2100 ? CL=2.5 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 64

Both is the same price ($35.99).

It is for my ECS K7S5A mobo and I'm planning on getting (2) 256MB sticks.

I have 1.4Mhz Athlon 266.

PC1600 looks faster because of CL=2, true?

DDR PC2100 is faster because it's rated at 133Mhz. PC1600 is only rated at 100Mhz. As far as the CL 2 vs. CL 2.5, yes CL 2 is faster, but the extra speed of PC2100 more than makes up for it. Besides, everyone that has that crucial PC2100 CL 2.5 RAM says that it runs at CL2 just fine. So, get the PC2100 and run it at CL2.

FYI...just received an e-mail about the PC2100 from Crucial ...256 Meg modules are on backorder for 7 to 10 days..doh! Grrrrr! 🙁
