DDR pads that don't suck...

I have the curse of crappy DDR pads. Any recommendations on something better? This is going to be used on a rug with a person's bare feet no shoes). If you guys really feel that isn't a good setup, I can put something underneath (although underneath the rug, which isn't that thick...its a persian/arab style rug, is good ol ceramic tile) it.

The trick is to buy a crap 360 dance pad, yank out the control board from it, and then replace the one in the better pads with it. This is supposedly a fairly simple soldering task.

Yeah, I've got an original Xbox Level 6 foam dance pad that I've been meaning to try this with, I've just been too lazy so far. I just don't get why nobody is making this for the 360.

Heres the BEST el'cheapo way to do it. BUY a knockoff cheap pad with the foam inserts, the kind with the zipper.

THEN buy the dense foam insert from REDOCTANE. put the dense foam into the cheapo pad, AND it is JUST as good as the redoctane.

And I also can't believe you guys DON"T play stepmania, Screw Conventional DDR.. You have to PAY for stuff beyond the PAD.

Stepmania is FREE and LEGAL, and has all the exact same and MORE songs than the regular DDR.

To get those same songs into Stepmania, you're either buying the discs or pirating them. That's not "free and legal".

Go troll somewhere else.

Code is done from scratch, all artwork NOT ripped, recomposed from scratch, stepfiles made by the community to verbatim. and open source

Sure the code is done from scratch but what about the music licensing?

You only use music you own... or that's supposed to be how it works 😉.

I play Stepmania because I have to. The last time I tried any of my DDRUs (1-3) on the 360, they wouldn't register the left arrow half the time. The pads worked fine on the PC 🙁. Stupid XBOX.

One thing I hate about DDRU is the fact that Konami makes you pay for content already on the discs (song downloads only being 120kb). Thanks Konami.

Stepmania is the best way to play if you're serious about it for sure.

Its the ONLY way. And major bragging rights if you can Pad one of the NON-Paddable songs. Ment for keyboard. You'll look like a spazz if you could, but a spazz with skills.

If you own an iPod, the only way to get music on there is to either buy CDs or MP3s or to pirate them. That's not "free and legal."*

*unless you buy CDs and MP3s.

I bought 1 copy of DDR, it has most of the old mixes of the songs, soooo that SORT of transfers since all the remixes are still of the old songs themselves. Unless remixes are trademarked seperately

Yeah, that probably wouldn't fly in court. 😉
