Should i get DDR or SDR? 256mb SDR is $48, DDR same size is $69. Also factor in the fact that the motherboard will cost $249 whereas a SDR board is $179. Is it worth the extra $100 dollars to go for DDR?

P.S. ALL CDN PRICES

Try to wait and get a motherboard with the new KT266A chipset.

Here is the Tom's Hardware review on the new chip; it looks impressive.

since DDR is getting cheaper and cheaper....
i would settle for DDR..

although if u don't want to spend too much money..
my DDR system only gives me about 15% improvement over performance in gaming and about 23% in 3dsmax4..

I say go with DDR, you get a decent performance boost, but even more importantly your much better set for the future then with SDR SDRAM.

Definitely DDR, it's faster, cheaper, and if you go with the SIS 735 you're set for price on that one too. I don't know about CDN prices, but in the states we can get it for 65 bucks! :)

I agree with the general concensus here which is to go with DDR. The price delta for just the memory is becoming very small and if you go with the SiS 735 chipset the motherboard price delta is nonexistent as well.

Go for the DDR. On the mobo, I suggest u wait as the new KT266A chipsets is going to be out in bout a month time (according to Anandtech). This new chipsets perform better than any other DDR chipsets available in the mrkts.
