Hello,
I had one 256M 2100 DDR chip in my system. Everything runs fine. I went and bought another. (Different brand, but still 2100 DDR). When I added the second into my ECS 735 board (2ddr and 2 dimm slots), it saw it fine and loaded Windows. But when I ran dxdiag and attemted to do the d3d video test, it would not show. I took the new one out and tried again. It worked this time. I took the old one out and put the new one in by itself. It worked fine( thus the new chip is good). I put the old chip back in with the new chip, it craps out again during the test. Why would this happen on d3d? Because of this, my main game, Everquest, won't start with 512 installed, but will run with either 256 card by itself. Any clues on this d3d problem? I even went ahead and change my graphic drivers back to standard vga and download the next and lastest drivers( Kyro Prophet II 4500) and reinstalled drivers and DX8.1. Still no good. Any clues folks?
