DDR memory and dual channel

I was wondering with the advent of dual channel ddr and intel motherboards that support 4 ddr slots like say the abit ai7 can you put in 4 sticks of memory provided they are the same brand and size yada yada can you use all 4 slots and get dual dual channel ddr?
slots 1-3 running dual and 2-4 running dual as well?

Thanks.

There are only two memory channels. Two of the slots are on one channel, and two are on the other. Running with four DIMMs does not provide any further increase in bandwidth over two.
