Greetings All,

As I was building my wish-list on newegg.com, I came across two different types of DDR chips: a 32x64 chip and a 64x64 chip. Both were 512MB DDR-2700 chips, and I selected the 64x64 to go on my list.

What is the difference between these two? If I only choose the one 64x64, will I be OK? I know the NxN spec refers to the layout of the chip, but I know there must be some sort of fundamental difference that I'm missing here. Questions like, "Do the 32x64's have to work in pairs?" leap to mind, but again, I'm not really sure.

Thanks in advance for your help/info.

there are 2 numbers, 1 for the module, 1 for the chip type.

for module, 32x64 means 256MB, 64x64 means 512MB.

for chip type, 32x8=64x4=16x16=256Mbit, 32x8 is the common used one, 16 of it make up a 512MB module.
