Do you think it is smart to switch to DDR now, or wait until the VIA chipset?

I personally was waiting for the Asus A7V266, but I'm hearing good things about the MSI Master and Epox board. I'm getting impatient....What do you reccomend?

Chipsets with the AMD 761 northbridge are showing some performance increase over the PC133 counterparts, but everyone's hoping that the new VIA KT266 chipset coming out next month will show even a better performance increase, and then there's also the SiS 735 chipset coming soon, and let's not forget the nForce due out this fall. There are a lot of things coming out soon that will show performance increases, but the decision on whether to wait for something better or buy now is one that only you can make. I feel like I could wait an eternity for the real thing, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Right now, there's no reason not to go DDR, if you're going AMD. The RAM and Mobo's are equal in price to their SDR counterparts, and there's plenty of stable mobo's out there now. Yeah, if you need a new DDR PC now, MSI K7 Master or the Epox board are great, but personally I would wait for nForce.

It really depends on what you have now. If you can wait, I would. The current DDR offerings aren't all that impressive compared to SDR solutions for AMD CPUs and the SDR boards seem to be more stable.
