DDR and PS3

Hi guys!

I don't play games a lot, so I don't know much about the whole DDR realm (games, amts, etc). I do have a PS3, and I wanted to buy a game and a mat for my daughter (5 yr old).

It looks like all of the mats at the stores are for PS2 and will require a converter to hook them up. Should I go for it, or search for PS3-native mat?

Also, are there PS3-native DDR games, or are they all PS2?

It also seems most of them are for Wii. I do have a Wii, but it's sitting collecting dust in the corner, and I'd hate to hook it up just for that. Plus the graphics seriously sucks compared to PS3...

There is no iteration of DDR currently released on the PS3. As far as the other stuff, I've no idea.

I've wondered why they didn't do a PS3/360 DDR game. Guess everyone just moved onto Guitar Hero/Rockband.

There are three 360 DDR games... Dance Dance Revolution Universe 1-3.

Although, be warned.. there's a nasty bug in the games (and even after submitting it to Konami, they never fixed it) where the game won't save your progress after beating a song 😛. It kinda sucks after you finally beat a song and get back to the Song Selection screen to see it show nothing new!

There's supposed to be a new DDR game coming out that will be on the PS3 and 360... Amazon had it listed for a March release, but obviously it's not out yet, so I don't know much about it.

Well, for the future, if anyone does a search: even though the mat will work, the game will not. Slim PS3 (250Gb or 160Gb) are not compatible with PS2 DDR games.

Ffffuuuu.... Now, to return all this crap I bought.
