DDR 500

I'm getting some new memory this week, OCZ EB DDR PC-4000 / 500MHz, but I'm new to overclocking and could use some advice. I have an Asus P4C800E-Deluxe, with P4 3.2 Ghz Northwood. I'd like to get up to at least a 250 FSB 1:1 with the new memory. But, if I can't get that high, for example, if I could get a 243 FSB, and my DRAM frequency is set to Auto, that means 1:1, then my memory will be at 243 also. If I underclock the memory in this instance, will it have a minimal effect on the overclock of the CPU?
And another scenario, would there be any reason for me to work with a 5:4 ratio?
With DDR 500, I'd be at 250 MHz and at 5:4, I'd be starting the CPU at 312.50, there's no way. Am I finally getting this?

You didn't need PC4000 RAM. With your processor, you only need 219 or 220 Mhz FSB to be at 3.5 Ghz, about the limit for most 3.2 Ghz Northwoods, with good air cooling.
