With the release of Haswell-E and DDR 4 looking at the speed of the DDR 4 so far I have a question about DDR4 3000…

Generally speaking you use multiples of 133 for each kit. DDR 4 3000 is a ½ jump of only 66MHz, It seams out of place to me, anyone able to enlighten me?

2133 <- Stock
2266 + 133
2400 + 133
2533 + 133
2666 + 133
2800 + 133
2933 + 133
3066 + 133
3200 + 133
3333 + 133

I think it's an unofficial speed just like ddr3 2000 or pc150

I noticed this on wiki:
"Standard transfer rates are 1600, 1866, 2133 and 2400 MT/s.[45] (12/15, 14/15, 16/15 and 18/15 GHz clock speeds, double data rate.) 2666 and 3200 MT/s (20/15 and 24/15 GHz clock speeds) are provided for, but the specifications are not yet complete."

so using that ratio ...
1600 12/15*2
1866 14/15*2
2133 16/15*2
2400 18/15*2
2666 20/15*2
3200 24/15*2

The closest I see to 3000 would be 3066 at 23/15*2

I don't know how they came up with that ratio, or if it has any meaning. Just figured i'd post it.

if you register/login on the jedec website you could likely have any information, but I think they charge money.

JEDEC typically has 'approved' four to five 'standardized' speeds for the past few generations. e.g.

DDR 200, 266, 333, 400
DDR2 400, 533, 667, 800 (later added 1066 after pressure from, IIRC, AMD)
DDR3 800, 1066, 1333, 1600 (later added 1866 and 2133)
