Not I - the cost is still way too high to justify that kind of expense when DDR2 works fine.

Unless you're also running Core i7 along with it (unlikely, given that it has yet to be released), DDR3 isn't going to offer any tangible or reasonable (an obvious must if you're chasing benchmarks) increase in performance over DDR2. Right now, if you're spending money on ram, you'll still want more before going faster.

Well I can get 2GB of OCZ Gold DDR3 for $49.99 after MIR, so not much of a price difference there.

When I replace my current laptop, hopefully near the end of this year, it will have DDR3. But for now, all my systems have DDR2.

It ain't worth it due to the prices, if it wasn't for the prices I might consider it.

I am. However, I bought it for benchmarking fun and not for imaginary leet performance gains.

I use it, like it, live it. I can run faster, love longer and drink more since I started using it.

I was gonna say, $44 for 2GB of DDR2 wasn't something to really brag about...

Still DDR1 400Mhz running at 333Mhz in dual-channel. POS mobo won't go higher for some reason.

Can't wait to get money to upgrade...

I have 2 gigs of DDR 400 and I can play anything out there. Seriously doubt I am missing out on anything.

The only way I'll know for sure if it makes a difference is if I get rid of my socket 939 motherboard and go to a whole new setup. I'd need a new CPU as well.

I dont feel the need to do that yet because Crysis runs very well (shame because I hate it) and so does Mass Effect.
Grid looks awesome as well.

Right now I would say the biggest factor in my enjoyment is the Radeon 4870.
CPU and RAM might be a whole generation behind but its not even noticeable yet.

Just replaced my socket 939 with an AM2+. Same speed CPU (on paper anyway) and 2 Gigs of DDR2 1066.
No difference in any benchmarks. If I didnt see any improvement going to DDR2 I wont worry about DDR3 any time soon.
I like that prices for good stuff is coming down. I got my Radeon 4870 for a very reasonable price considering how powerful it is.
Since this is the gaming forum, I will say that the number one factor in your game enjoyment is still the video card.

Hi-end CPU's and RAM dont justify the money unless you are running a serious video workstation or server.

EDIT: I just realized I went from NForce 4 to NForce 8!

There just really is no use for that bandwidth right now. If anything, latency can skew the performance, but as we know, DDR3 has higher latency than DDR2 at the same clock. So, no, no use for DDR3... yet.
