I want to get som more memory for my system, but I am limited on $. I currently have 512 of Mushkin DDR 2100 (what would now be their "blue" line) and I would like to get another 512 stick. The problem is that the price for Mushkin is a little too steep for me right now.

My question is can I use generic memory in conjunction with the mushkin or will I have problems?

yeah, u can use generic memory. i got a 256 mushkin stick with a 256 generic stick and a 512 simple tech stick and they work fine together.

i would suggest a stick of kingston value ram since PC2100's are pretty much dirt cheap these days. a 512mb stick should cost around $50 to 60 and it feels much better than running a generic stick that have the chances of frying a mobo...

I just did a search and found a 512 stick of crucial 2100 for $65 and free shipping at newegg. This sounds like a good deal.
