This is admittedly a minor issue but I don't want it to come back and haunt me when it is too late to RMA the hardware. I just built a system (my first) with an ECS K7S5A mainboard and 128mb Kingston 2100 DDR ram. On a startup screen that usually flits by I can see that it reads the correct amount but shows DDR dimms as 0 and Sdram as blank. Putting dimm in other socket shows DDR as 1 and sdram as blank. Is it possible for a defective socket to cause a DDR dimm to only perform at Sdram speed, or is it a deal where if it works at all it will work at full speed? Is this something I need to worry about?
