DDC System???

I recently bought a Hitachil CML 174 17" LCD screen, and I was reading thru the manual and it had a floppy that was to be installed only if you didn't have a DDC "system". The thing is, I don't know whether mine is or not. I'm getting a MSI 655 Max motherboard and an ATI RADEON 9500 Pro. I looked on ATIs website and it didn't mention anything about DDC. So how do I find out if mine is DDC or not? I think my system is DDC, but I want to make sure. Can someone verify for me? Thanks 😀
 
Just ignore it and install the drivers. All DDC is, is a way for the video card/software to detect the abilites of the monitor, or something like that.

You're right about the abilities of DDC, and since your video card has DDC capability (almost all, if not all, video cards made today, as well as most of those made in the past few years, are capable of reading display information via DDC), you do not need to install the monitor drivers (you still need video card drivers, of course).
 
it's pretty easy to figure out if your monitor supports ddc (if you have an older one and you're not sure)

if you change the refresh rate and it stays at 60Hz, then it doesn't support DDC 🙂
