DDC Hum a little loud

Got a new DDC 3.25 running and its a little loud. Any ideas how to lessen the noise? Its currently Velcroed down. Id prefer not to have to drain the entire system to fix it (aka replace the top). Its just kind of annoying given the rest of the system is virtually passive.

go out to the super market..

get a cleaning sponge... like the one 3m makes.

cut it up and sit it on top of the DDC and see if u can minimize the vibration on it.

Thats probably why its humming loud.

Is the noise coming from the vibration where the pump is against the case, or is it coming from the top of the pump itself? If it is the former - raise the pump off the case. I've used a couple bolts in the past to the flanges on the sides, and rubber washers to pad the connection points. If it is the upper, I have no idea... so go with Aigo's suggestion.

I did both and its quieter but its still definitely there. I guess it will never get all the way quiet...

do u have an aftermarket top?

does it sound like a girglling noise?

im thinking maybe u have a bubble in the impeller?

i hear the occasional gurgle but i think thats the res just being a little empty. I don't have an aftermarket top. Will that solve everything? I was looking into that and it seems like it has potential to do that. The issue is everything is filled so there is no way for me to put on the top unless i drain everything. Or is there some tool I can use to cut off circulation briefly?

i would just drain...

unless you have a painful loop.

A top might fix it.

The DDC should not be louder then per say your PSU.

you can get some clamps and crush the tubing very tightly just outside of the pump, cutting off the flow, but you'll still have to open the top of the pump and lose water from there, plus get air into the loop. probably easier to just drain.

Nope, it's just a theory. I've never had a loop that only needed a single part replacement. There's a special set of something like pliers, spring loaded to lock down, with slightly curved metal bars that crush tubing flat without damaging it.

Pulling the tubing off the pump's fittings is going to be the biggest problem. Anyways, make sure the computer is shut down, and wrap it all up with something to catch dripping water.

show me a picture... matx's are usually easier to drain because u can invert... unlike towers.

Sorry I've been out of town for awhile and am going back out fairly soon so I won't be able to keep up with this thread until august. That being said, I'm having PSU issues as well so it looks like I'll be draining my system and swapping some stuff out.

As far as what my set up is, I have a Thermaltake Lanbox which i drilled holes through and mounted the radiator with compression fittings. Pretty sweet stuff.
