I have a computer which gets its internet from across the street at a local coffee shop through a cantenna I made on the cheap. Im wondering how to properly set up my computer to share its internet connection through a wireless router that is connected to this main computer through a ethernet cable. (wrt54g2 v1)
What I have done so far is installed the correct DD-WRT software into my router, but have not be able to have my mac book connect through the wireless connection through my router into my main computer which receives the cantenna internet signal.
My basic set up is . Cantenna USB > Desktop > Ethernet > Router > Wireless > Macbook.
I have tried a few of the tutorials on setting up the router, but it seems none are addressing this type of connection specifically. To be honest im pretty computer minded but get lost with all the ip configuration and router configurations. If someone would be willing to tell me what to in a step format addressing ip addresses, subnets, and default gateways and anything else that would help i would be very grateful.
