like to know how much bandwidth is being used.
not total usage per month, but how much at any given time.

currently have 25 Mbps with comcast. at at given time. 5 devices can be simultaneously active. 2 streaming netflix, 1 streaming youtube, 2 gaming.

router is a NetGear WRN3500L Router. Currently factory firmware (dd-wrt and tomato compatible). factory firmware only seem to keep track of total usage. need max usage instead. before installilng dd-wrt or tomato. does these open source firmware have this max usage reporting feature?

edit: looks like i will need to flash to get this feature. which one and why?

for now tomato with its average, peak, tota" plus date/time is looking promising.

It mostly just comes down to personal preference and compatibility once you decide on one of the two.

Ran DDWRT for years, running Shibby Tomato now. It really does all come down to compatibility with your specific device, capabilities are pretty much identical on both.
