DD 6800 waterblock

Does anyone have the DD 6800 block, and if so does it perform well and represent an easy install? I'm also interested in any blocks that have been tried on the 6800 GT. I'd rather not spend $124 for the DD block if I don't have to. 🙂

Check the DD site. There is a link to a review of the nv 68 block.

Google a general review or two. It isn't reasonable to expect DD to link a impartial review.

yeah, their outta their minds...🙁

You obviously have no idea how expensive copper is? Besides that, there is a lot of machining involved in the manufacture of such a large block.

No...... copper's pretty damn cheap. Just check DD's own website under "metals." $26 for a 2x12x3/4 inch slab. And that's after DD's markup.

if copper was so expensive you would think a penny would be worth more.... Anyway the DD block is pretty good. I don't believe it covers the ram sinks. Which isn't a huge deal. But for the price you would think it would offer a complete cooling solution.

It contacts the RAM, but like you say, with GDDR3 that isn't that big of a deal. Yeah, it's expensive as water-blocks go, but being that it's much larger than a CPU block, I can see why it costs as much as it does.

I understand. Have you checked out the innovatek (sp) It's supposed to be a good block and it runs the coolant over the ram sinks too. I think it's A LOT cheaper as well.

This one? 🙂 I'd prefer it, but they're taking nothing but back orders.
