DCC transfers crash computer

I've been having this problem that my computer has been freezing hard once in a while. It took me a bit to track it down, but it is only when I have a DCC transfer going, otherwise my computer is completely stable. Has anyone heard of this? Do I have a networking problem?

Try a different nic card maybe?

problem is I am on a wireless network. I suppose I could try installing one of the usb ones I got lying around.
