Whose playing on the PS3?

I'm on the Relentless server with an Ice / Hand Blaster / Speed character named Sam Chillz.

My next character will be on the PvP. We'll see if it lasts. LOL

My son accidentally created one on a PvP server during the beta and was constantly getting ganked by high level groups camped out in the newbie zones.

I just read an news article that said they are selling out of copies. Are the servers handling the load well? How do you like the game? I read a preliminary review by two players that hated the game.

PS3 servers are doing OK. SOE has added a few more to help handle the load.

It's not going to be for everyone but that's pretty much any game. Especially with MMOs.

It's not like other MMOs though as it is very action-oriented. There isn't much downtime as you go from mission to mission. You can also jump into special instances for 2, 4 and 8 main raids or 2v2, 4v4 PvP.

One of the biggest annoyances is that the game just kind of throws you in there without much guidance. So you may get grouped up with people in a special instance that don't really understand that they are supposed to be playing a role (Healer, Controller or Tank).

Also, it would be nice if they got voice chat to work consistently for everybody.

I like it so far. They are supposed to be adding content monthly to make it worth the $15 a month subscription fee. They should be announcing the Feb content soon.

I was interested until I heard they were charging monthly for a console game. I just don't see it being worth it.

I wish it was available on the 360, I'll put it that way ... the thought of an MMO on my console intrigues me.

There have been a couple that were decent. I played PSO on Dreamcast and then Gamecube until they shut the servers down. PSU, however, wasn't nearly as good.

I have been wondering if this was any good, as I want to play an MMO, but don't want to go back to WoW.

When I played the beta the interface was very PC-like. With small fonts you couldn't read and all that... Did they take care of that?

That's funny, when I played the PC beta, the interface was geared towards consoles. So much so that when you went to the key mapping page, it brought up a picture of the PS3 controller!

Yeah, the fonts are still somewhat small but you can adjust the size slightly. Still a pain to read on anything less than a 40" HDTV.

They tried to make a UI that works with both systems. It doesn't quite mesh well as a result.
