DC to AC converter question... how much power does a computer need (WATTS) ?

I posted a question about installing a computer inside my car. I build the machine (minimally configured) and figured out to ge the vide out to a TFT display.

Now, I'm down to cabling my car to power the computer and whatever else I'll install inside. I want to know how much power (WATTS) does the computer need. I want to make sure I have enough to power at least the computer and say, another device ( DVD, VCR, Playstation etc)

Thanks

It's completely dependant on what's in there. You could probably get away with 50W for something like a P200 with onboard graphics and a slow hard-disk.

I figured that... The system runs with a minimal configuration (video card, sound card and a networkcard). Would 300W's sound enough?

Shoot with that configuration you can get away with less than 150 watts. Big power eaters are hard drives! Besides the CPU/Motherboard these take up the most power. I wouldn't worry about pci cards as much.
