Yeah yeah I've seen the red lobster, asian bistro, panera bread, romanos, lebanese taverna, etc etc. Nearly every one of my co workers say they would not venture outside that 5-6 block area at night. Real safe, eh?!
And Bethesda is nice but it isn't downtown silver spring is it? And I did say to the west of here is better (bethesda, rockville, etc)

well you said most of montgomery county. bethesda and rockville are part of montgomery county, so that's what I was talking about. yes, parts of silver spring are ghetto. give me one city that doesn't have any areas where people don't feel safe? they all do.
Hey, I looked at Summit Hills too, but they (leasing office) didn't leave me with a good impression so I didn't think twice about 'em. Looked like a decent place though. I also looked at the Blair apartments (couple different buildings.) Had I decided to live in downtown it'd probably be at Blair.Originally posted by: dabuddha

My mistake then 🙂 By crap sh!thole, I was referring to most of the Silver Spring area which is where the OP stated he wanted to live. Bethesda is pretty nice but I have a very personal reason why I hate it.

and UNCjigga, where you end up moving to?
Actually, I'm not sure what my area is called--I just call it Briggs-Chaney because that's the Columbia Pike exit I'm off of (there's a lot of apartments and car dealerships there.) Not the best area, but I really liked the apartment complex and I'm only an 8 minute drive from work.

White Oak really isn't that bad... It relly depends on what specific part of White Oak... if you are right on lockwood or 29 it's worse than if you are on old columbia
