I recently purchased a Matrox Parhelia and installed it in one of my dually crunchers that I also use for my main desktop machine.

I have found to my pleasure that with the dually AMD machine, the Parhelia, and 512MB of ram on the server, that I can play UT2k3 at 1152x864 full speed with full graphics and its amazing!

All the while I am crunching 2 instances of TSC with the D2OL Agent at 100 percent CPU utilization.

Incredible for this old man to see. 😀

And how old might that be?

I can remember in my professional career when (pre-PC) computer memory was one dollar per byte. $16K for 16KB. PDP-11, I think.

Glad to hear you're happy with your Parhelia. Lots of people around here diss them, but they aren't bad if you use them for what they're intended for (and they even work well for games, too, as you've found out). 🙂

Just curious, do you have dual monitors connected to go with your dual processors? 😉

Nice! Now how about getting 3 monitors, and playing UT2k3 with 3 monitors, the way the Parhelia should be used! 😉

I cant afford 3 monitors today, but it will be a consideration down the road. Just going with my old trusty LaCie Electron19blue Ive had for the past 4 years. :Q

Slowbones Im only 47 but never had computers when the prices were as high as you mention. 😀
Ive only been playing with them for about 5 years.

My next hope is to move to flat panel display. If any one has 3 they want to loan me Id love to try surround gaming.. LOL 😀
