The measure, approved by D.C. voters in June, would have eliminated the city’s two-tier minimum wage system. It would have raised the minimum wage for tipped workers, such as waiters and bartenders, incrementally until their minimum wage matched that of other workers in the city by 2020.

The vote was 8 to 5.

WTF was the point of having the voter ballet then?!?!
the dc council caved in to the restaurant guild, who spent massive amounts of $ against it

What's the point of having DC voters vote for anything, anyway, when some dillhole congresscritter from bumfuct Idaho can introduce a bill that overturns it?

DC is kinda fucked for people that live there.

Seems like a bad move. You can't say "well the voters were misled so lets undo it all". You think Teresa May wouldn't love to pull that excuse right now? Or 70,000 people in 3 midwestern states wouldn't love to have a redo?

But you can't. Really bad move.
