I'll be building my new computer when I get home after work today.. I was just wondering how the FX-55 proc performs in DC. I have seti currently running on my Pentium 4 3Ghz and get about 14-15 work units a day... I will want to perform some dc tests and see how this thing runs...

Have you got 2 SETI processes running on that P4? (I'm assuming its got HT?) ,that's when the P4s come into their own on SETI.

Though an FX55 will kick arse in SETI too :)

Btw which SETI are you running?

I do have HT on the P4 and I am running 2 processes running at once.

I will give specific specs on the system after I get it working... I do have the dfi sli-dr board, and the ocz memory that runs at 2-2-2-8 at DDR4000. I plan to get it stable first on the standard setting and attempt to overclock it a little. I think I spent about 3400 or so so far. I'm not sure about the exact amount as I haven't added it all up yet. That is including the 21" Samsung LCD monitor. I also have the 19" Samsung also. I have 1 asus EN6800GT video card currently and plan to get another soon. I have 2x300GB hd. I was planning to mirror this and install the os and apps there. I want to get another 4, run in raid 5 and run my games and keep data there (pictures, download, docs, etc.)

I'm running seti in the version 3 something with the set driver program. It's the command line version that's supposed to run the best... 3.0.3 if I can remember correctly....

I got the system pretty much together... I just ordered the second video card and a dvd burner. The systems posts, but I'm having some issue with the floppy to update the BIOS. Will look at it again today after work..

That will be the raw capacity. 2x300GB drives in a mirror. The other 4 in Raid 5. 1.2TB usable with redundancy. I figured, what the hell...
I ran a quick test in seti and I'm getting time under 2hrs per wu.. I let it run today while I'm at work. I have not run setispy yet to see what I'm actually getting. I'm just using the numbers at the bottom of seti driver... But, from about 10PM-6:30AM, There was 6 WU ready to transmit.
So, I think I should be getting about 17WU per day at that rate. I'm running everything at default speeds currently and processing 1 WU at a time.

Sounds pretty good ,1.4hrs/WU!:D
Though I don't know FX WU times specifically

Quite a bit faster than my XPM 2500 @2.53! (180FSB) ,2hrs/WU ;)

I've taken some pictures of the components already. I haven't taken any with it in the case yet.. I'll be taking some more after I do the sleeving. I'll need to post these after I'm finished.. Right now my computer room is a big mess with boxes and trash all over... I need to throw some of it out when I get home today.
