DB9 to USB is there such a thing

OK here is my problem. I have a PALM IIIxe and an external modem ( DSL or cable not available in my area). I also have a PB Remote laying around that I'd like to start messing with again. The remote uses a Serial port. SO I have 3 serial devices and 2 serial Ports. Does anyone know if there an adpater to turn a DB9 into USB. I'd like to throw my palm on a USB port. I have seen some priced for about 35.00 to 40.00 bucks but I know there has to be one cheaper out there.

belkin makes usb-to-serial port thingys..but they're not cheap

but at least this might give you something to go on

I would recommend buying the USB cradle for the Palm. This way you won't have to use a third serial port and the Palm will sync much faster.

A cheap option would be to buy a serial port replicator card.
