That is personally one of my new favorite movies...

that movie is pretty much a description of my dad's teenage years.. I'm jealous! :(

I thought the movie was cool as hell. and the girl played by Milla Jovovich is like my dream come true.. :D

*flame suit on*

so what do you think of that movie?

Good movie, but a lot of technical flaws. They are just lucky the actors and story were good.

I can totally picture it exactly like in the movie..

of course that movie does take place in West texas where I live, that movie and "Varsity Blues" are like a combination of what life is like to high school kids around here.

the county I live in has the highest teen pregnancy and drunk driving rate in all of texas, and one of the highest in the country I think. its becaues the towns out here are dead, there is nothing to do but party and screw, and its hundreds of miles of empty texas highways from the nearest cool town, austin, san antonio, dallas, houston. :D

i thought it was ok, but why didn't milla jovovich say anything? she had about 5 lines in the whole film!

the movie seemed to launch several acting careers, most notably ben affleck, matthew mcconaughey, parker posey, adam goldeberg, and a few others.

"know what i like about high school girls? i get older, they stay the same age"

awesome! that gets quoted so much in my clique. and then we do the whole mcconaughey thing, and usually end with some naked bongo jokes

Great movie! Haven't seen it in a couple years. I believe it was filmed in Austin, Texas. I'm fixing to drive there to see a concert. WooHoo!

FWIW, I also saw "The Stoned Age" and I didn't care for it. "Dazed and Confused" was much better, IMO.

Loved it, on many levels. I think this movie was somewhat unfairly overlooked because it was promoted as nothing more than a teenage party film; I actually thought it was pretty intelligent and very clever in parts.

Hee hee - actually I would not be surprised if we had a number of things in common. I think we just differ in our, er style of communication. Great movie in any case. I also loved Linklater's first movie, "Slacker".
