Yes I am. Month ago I didn't even know it existed. I don't even I don't even own it. I just like it and am waiting for full release.

Complaining about what the game is about? lol

Been watching vids of this game and the mods to see what all the fuss is about, and I just dont get it all. Even if it was 100% bugless and working... wtf?

All I see to do is to run around collecting crap, killing someone to take more crap, and waiting to inevitably be killed by someone else who wants all the crap you have gathered. Wash, rinse, repeat.

... You do realize you just described 99% of all multiplayer games right?

Yeah, that is the case majority of the time. There are times though when you meet a fresh spawn and you join up and go around looting together.

The point is that it's a survival simulation. It's supposed to be difficult and dangerous and gives players that tense, jumpy feeling because every action has potentially disastrous consequences.

And people love it. I've never seen a demo/concept catch on and sweep the 'net the way DayZ did. The problem is that two years later the bugs and technical problems that got in the way of the experience are still there and there's no complete, polished product.

This could have been a 100 million dollar franchise but they absolutely dropped the ball and failed to capitalize on all the buzz. Two years is an eternity in internet gaming.

Need someone like Valve to buy the project and turn it into an actual complete game. I would love to play but the unfinished state is keeping me well away from spending money.

Anyone but Valve, they'd have it release right after HL3....in about 35 years

Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal, Portal 2, and DOTA 2 would like to have a word with you. 😛

If anything, Valve is the company to do it. They find good ideas, hire the creators and help turn their games from amateur works into a professional game.

Here's what would make this game immensely fun:

Introduce loads of crafting features: firstly be able to construct crude defenses in form of walls, fences, even structures. You can chop trees and manually process them to acquire building material.

Then you can construct a special spawn beacon- which allows you to form a community and anyone in that community can spawn right on that beacon instead of some random location.

Now you can build your own defensible fort you and your friends can defend and stock supplies in to make quick recoveries on deaths.

Maybe have some other limited things like grow some food but should keep it very limited in order to force people to scavenge regularly.

Then you introduce stuff to the world to siege forts with - wire cutters, sledgehammers, whatever so you can try sieging someone else's fort to steal their supplies or try and demolish their spawn beacon.

But first they need to polish the animations and combat mechanics which are now terrible.

Sounds like Rust without the cock & balls. That's a great idea!

I thought it was being rewritten from a mod for existing game into standalone product. The two years doesn't look like an argument.
Also, it's only alpha.
And people are already playing it fanatically. I wouldn't worry about time. The concept is still awesome.

Time is money!

Time is money!

And time running across the entire map costs you hours of your life 😀

It's not a horrible game, especially as a survival sim, it will just get a lot better once it's out of it's current Alpha state and starts adding items, vehicles, and shitloads more zombies.

I've been playing Breaking Point on ARMA 3. I actually got A3 thinking I'd play the Day Z mod that was ported over to it, only to find out that was shut down. But they linked to Breaking Point which is actually pretty good.

It's basically Day Z except it's pretty functional. There's a built-in buddy system, the zombies are much better with pretty good animations, and it's on the A3 engine with a few extra mods thrown in. Plus it's on the new A3 map which is HUGE and comes with almost all the buildings being enter-able. And I love the A3 engine, it's simply beautiful and the scope is insane. It took a while for me to get it to run well, it actually took turning some settings up higher to have it switch more load to the GPU.

All in all, I'm happier with a purchase of A3 for $60 which has this free well-functioning mod, the stock campaign and multiplayer, and swaths of user made campaigns, scenarios, and multiplayer modes.

Anyone else playing it? The only downside I have is I don't know anyone else who has it 🙁
