DayZ ported to Arma 3

It was kind of inevitable. Once Rocket decided to abandon the mod and join BIS the mod took a path of its own. With Arma 3 looming at the point when he made this decision he must have known that if he didn't beat Arma 3 out the door his product would be obsolete.

He may very well make a better game, but it wont look anywhere near as good as its still based on a 3 year old engine that has a lot of problems. Arma 3's engine is certainly better, although we still have some problems with it. The patch yesterday broke everything unfortunately.

man, i'm the biggest dayz fan around. i don't care if it's standalone or an arma3 mod. i just don't want it to be a big piece of shit.

i wonder how many servers arma3😀ayz has because if it's decent i'll probably pick it up off steam(arma3).

No matter how many colors, ways, or times you put lipstick on a pig............at the end of the day it's still a pig.

That's the best quote to describe this game. No matter how many fixes are applied, the engine is still a hog in terms of time needed to polish weird things, and resources.

The guys is seriously taking way too long to release his game. Something tells me he is taking his sweet time and not really doing the obligatory "work 80 hours a week for an entire year" that is required to produce an actual AAA quality game.

By the time this game comes out, major AAA funded games with similar sandbox qualities will be being released and nobody is going to be giving a sh1t about DayZ and its outdated engine.
