I just found out i'm being sent to Daytona Beach,FL fo the month of Janury to train. I was wondering if you guys and gals knew of any good bars, restaurant or things to do or see while I'm there. I've been there before when i was in high school and all i rember was the beach, getting drunk and a place called the "Ocean Deck" is that place still there?

thanks to all for there help.

Daytona Livens up quite a bit at the end of January to mid Feb. during speed weeks. The Hooters across from the Speedway is always good tho. Very Friendly Waitress's and some pretty hot chicken parts as well. (gotta luv those tanned thighs and uhhh breasts) Check out the Shingle Shack for an even closer look at those Tans. Most of the pickup bars are way too touristy for most people tho. Head to Smyrna or Cocoa Beach for more Local flavor. (depending on what your favorite flavor is)

Come back during bike week, beginning of March. Lots of wet tee shirt contests. Saloons.........Boot Hill, Froggies,Pub 44, Cabbage Patch, The Bank and best of all, the Iron Horse Saloon.

Ocean Deck is good start, and it is just south of the pier. After getting trashed, go down to the boardwalk. They have a tiny go-cart track on the roof of an arcade, and it's dirt cheap, but addicting. The track operators let you bang around, and will dump water on the corners to make you slide. If you are into Nascar, Daytona USA is O.K.

Don't forget that some of the best "World Famous" shows and comedy are just a short ride away from Daytona. That's right, just a short trip south to Palm Beach county, and you can see an "ACTUAL RECOUNT" in progress!! Something you're sure to tell the grandkids about.
