Wow...it's that time already folks.

Don't forget to set your clocks AHEAD one hour tonight.

Crap...it always takes me a week or two to adjust to the time change...

(note: this post does not apply to youse folks in Hawaii or Arizona.)

Ha!

About DST:
Robertson Davies, however, detected "the bony, blue-fingered hand of Puritanism, eager to push people into bed earlier, and get them up earlier, to make them healthy, wealthy and wise in spite of themselves"

LOL only two adjustments a year?!

You all have it too easy! Sometimes we have to move the clock forward two or three times a week only to move it back the same a few days later.

I myself use GMT and forget about it. If I know where I am I know what time it is!

As if I really care!

That's because you live on mari-time...:p

GMT is probably the best for your situation...that doesn't change.

(well, except for the minor atomic clock adjustments)

I like DST.

I mean, it sucks the day of* but it's great getting out of work at 6:30 pm and still having daylight to burn. I feel so zapped when I get out of work and it's dark; all I want to do is go home and veg out on the couch all night. when if feels like it's still the afternoon, I'm much more inclined to be productive after work.

*unless you work overnight shifts, but they get screwed in the fall

I wish work would start an hour earlier. I know some people don't like going to work in the dark, but I've never minded at all, knowing the reward is daylight when I get home.

DST eats shit. If people want more afternoon light, start the day earlier. I'm tuned to the sun, and dicking around with the clocks fucks up my system.

I'm mostly nocturnal now so it doesn't make much a difference to me.

Thanks for the heads up, though :)

but without DST, we couldn't get to travel back in time once/year :awe: it's the best hour of the entire year. you can do or say something stupid and it doesn't count once we get to relive the hour all over again.

Can't you get a GPS adjusted clock or something?

Actually the GPS system uses relative timing for sunset data which is interesting as sunrise/sunset times are set to your precise location.

People OTOH are different and tell time by the clock so we have these silly time zones and such. Moving the clocks forward so there is more light in the evening could make sense in certain fields. Some folks even believe you get more light which I find hilarious. The photoperiod definitely is not changing! ;)
