Actually, I believe that article was in the Onion about 5 years ago. It's an "actual article", but the writer doesn't truly believe that.

I once attended a lecture on global warming that was open to the public - I work at the college's Media Center, and one of my jobs is to videotape such events. I was there to hear the questions they asked afterwards. To say that the general public's knowledge of basic science, much less the workings of climate change theory, is merely "pathetically minimal" would be giving too much credit.

True, but the truth of the writer's intentions is in the language. Go read it again. Anyone who wrote that cannot be stupid enough to think that daylight savings is to blame. 😛

This argument does have some merit. There are some exceedingly well-read idiots out there, but fortunately they are rare.🙂
