Used to have some Eldar, Space Marines (Space Wolves) and Orks.
But I used to play with the old rules (before the new green logo was introduced, and before Necrons/Dark Eldar).
I'm hardcore :p Gave up years ago though (maybe 4 or so IIRC).

ditto lonyo and Malldine...

i played back in highschool (1993-1996)... i still have my space marine army lying around. i have a 4000 point Skaven army too...

Yea, I was old school Tyranid...this game brings back so many fond memories...those poor space marines were so scared of my Carnifex that they didn't notice the 18 genestealers ripping apart their army...:)

Was the carnifex the big monster with multiple scythe arms?

yea. A monster of a monster. Took an dreadnots like it was no bodies business, espically with the 2-3 enhancements I was able to give it. I've never had my hive tyrant taken out though...even if it was, its next to impossible to make a Tyranid army break.

On a game related note...damn outpost.com still has it listed as "preorder"....anyone else find a place that is shipping it?

Damn damn damn, I wanna play *cry*

heh heh

Gogamer still has it listed as preorder too.

EDIT: Definition of Carnifex "an executioner or hangman"

Yea it was an executioner alright...everything in front of it was dead except for the choas demons (which, back when I played, seemed WAY overpowered) and the Eldar Avatar.

i got it last night and let me tell you, the opening scene alone fullfills my dreams to see Space Marines own heads. it was great.

the actual game is much like the betas, different icons though in the menus. besides that the game is fantastic, i'm on mission five and can't wait to get out of work so i can go home and stomp some ork boyz

thats really cool. I'm glad to hear this. I'd rather pick this one up rather than SW:BF. I plaeyd the demo, to the environments vary, or is it always that post-nuclear war look? Is there any forest, town, caverns...ect?

I'd love to buy this game even though I have no background in this universe but I bet the multiplayer of this game is really lacking. Non-blizzard games have about 200-300 people online at once and there is no ladder or ranking system usually. Does this game have any promise?

All this talk makes me wish I could get my Win XP rig to play Space Crusade by Gremlin from 1992 or 1993.

Multiplayer is apparently fast paced like TFT, avg game time between 20-30mins. Haven't tried it, but when I do, will let you know.

It's a shame warcraft bnet is so addictive. Prevents many players from experiencing great multiplayer RTS, causing the lack of online multiplayer interest. Look at Kohan :( Maybe more will buy into Kohan 2.

Anyway, yeah, it's supposed to be good. Don;t know about a ladder/ranking system but it would obviously be a wise business decision.

different enviorments? well last night and the day before i played two seperate missons that took place in forests. one you had to advance scouts up and assassinate the ork leader and wait for reinforcements... then you take command of them and wreck people...

another misson last night you begin play with assault marines (dudes with jump packs) and whirlwind tanks and you have to assault a base across a gorge. once their takes out you leap across the gap, engage in close combat then root out all the orks that are in the map (huge wooded map with rivers, hills)...

i know i keep pimping this game, but i love it...
