How do you know she couldn't remember a single name. The interviewer didn't ask for a *single* name, he specifically asked for the name of the *last* KIA. Evidently it is you who is slow on the uptake.......and this gives me insight into how you would perform in a similar situation:

Let me try to explain this in a way the meanest intellect could grasp. If she's asked for the last, shouldn't she provide the name of the last soldier she was informed of? If it wasn't Jeremey Bohannon, then it should have been whoever she was mailed of last. What you are saying is that she knew Shuster was getting at a different soldier than the one she knew of. She knew nothing. No wonder you are defending her...

Hopefully I'll get this edit done before you read and reply. What if the last KIA in her district was over a year ago......what if there were several KIA's in the span of a few months prior to the last......what if she merely couldn't recall at the drop of a hat because over a year had lapsed and so many had happened in such a short period of time.......

Sorry, I don't expect anyone to be doing KIA flash cards just in case someone asks that question. If she were just notified of a KIA with weeks, maybe even a month or two......I could understand the point of her not remembering.

The way I look at it you could know every name and not give a sh!t or not know any and be broken hearted. You could know every name and care deeply or not know any and not care at all. I can't muster even the slightest anger or outrage in any direction over this so called news story because I can't get inside that woman and know what is in her heart. I will not judge her character on whether she comes up with a name. Sorry, I see that as the only sane reaction. I also think the reporter used a cheap shot. Sorry again!

We'll have to ask her recollection about the Moveon.org ad a year from now I suspect it'll be used in 2008 campaign ads too. That's the disconnect you and others seem to be having. She knew everythign about a goddamn useless political ad, but couldn't name a fallen soldier. It gets back to priorities. I know for a fact that some congressmen like Jack Murtha constantly visit the wounded and meet with the families of the fallen. That's caring for soldiers. Blackburn made hay of the moveon.org ad under the notion that she was "protecting a soldier" It's only natural to see how many soldiers she cares about.
