I have 3 of his books:

The Great Bridge
1776
John Adams

Aside from being a renowned historian, I just love his writing style.

For those who know of him and have read him, this is a complete "duh" thread, but for those who haven't I highly recommend you pick up one of his books.

I really enjoyed 'Path Between the Seas: The Creation of the Panama Canal 1870-1914'

I have a copy of '1776' around here somewhere I need to get to and want to read 'The Great Bridge'.

1776 is great as is The Great Bridge, but IMHO his best work (that I have read thus far) is John Adams.

I agree entirely. When reading 'John Adams' I found his writing every bit as engaging as a novel. For those who have found history books dry and tedious, give one of his a try.
