You never realize how over the top his singing is until you hear this version of Runnin With The Devil that isolates his vocal track only. Its hilariously awesome.

That's cool. I'd like to hear all of the voice tracks together on that studio cut.

One of the local rock stations played a clip of this while I was listening a couple weeks ago. Obviously it sounds a little odd without the music but you do get a sense of just how great DLR's vocals are listening to him sing a song with such range like RWTD. However, the song may be legendary but being the huge VH fan that I am I've come to find it not as good as much of their other works, including many with Hagar. IMHO.

Regardless, between DLR and Hagar, VH is still the greatest American rock band ever compiled.

When it's Love, Right Now, Why Can't This Be Love, Summer Nights, Love Walks In, Finish What Ya Started, Feels So Good, Can't Stop Lovin' You, Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do, Top of the World, Poundcake...

Half of those are better then RWTD, the other half are still great VH songs that any DLR follower should be able to appreciate if they ever truely liked Van Halen. I'm just glad I got into VH late and didn't "grow up" on them or I might've turned into one of you jaded Van Hagar haters as well. Really, if you wanna hate on a front man then hate on Cherone, Hagar is John Lennon compared to that hack.

I don't really like any of those songs, I stopped buying VH albums when 1984 came out. I think they jumped the shark when Edie started playing keyboards. Just imo of course, to each their own.

Lollerskates, roflcopter, etc.

Yup.. Pearl Jam has a large following but isn't close in terms of quality, Aerosmith is just as good and lasted longer but put out some meh albums, G'n'R had some real good singles but not much else, The Eagles are good but I personally like Don Henley as a soloist more, Journey is classic but not as good, REM is up there too but not quite better, Metalica.. lolol forget I even put them in this arguement, Bruce Springsteen is a god but his band isn't much, Nirvana (see Pearl Jam), The Doors are too mellow for me man, The Dead I'm just not much of a fan for, Lynyrd Skynyrd could've been better if they lived, and I personally can't get over the way KISS dresses. So there you go, all of that is IMHO of course.

That is a killer track. Van Halen totally ruled. A lot of their stuff still totally holds up today.

Edit: Is that the actual vocal track on the album? Hard to believe.

I don't know what you were expecting, but that's what vocal tracks by themselves sound like.

Cool stuff!!!

I love both David and Sammy, both versions of the band rocked!

Oh and by the way saw both versions multiple times.
