Slow day I take it?
A little FYI, magazines can be made or modified to comply with the 10 round law while appearing similar to a 30 rounder, thus being completely legal. A legitimate reason being that a standard 10 round mag does not protrude below an AR-15 (or my Ruger 10/22 for that matter) making detaching a somewhat sketchier process, not slower, but a jammed short mag is more likely to cause issues as the user cannot easily force a stuck mag out.
However, magazines are also freely sold that are 10 rounds standard, but can be pretty easily modified to accommodate 30 rounds. Technically, no laws are being broken, nor can such laws be made from workarounds like these without being over-restrictive. For example, a welded shut magazine would prevent cleaning and repairs.
Speaking of mods, it's none too hard to make a 10/22 shoot full auto. With a bull barrel, you basically got a laser pointer, and .22s are dirt cheap to boot.
