Same here.

+1

I decided that fingerstyle guitar on acoustic was going to be my way of expressing myself musically after delving into the stylings of CSNY, although on occasions I'd use a flat pick on a 'Strat to get the same effect as the recordings ie- Hendrix, Santana, Ron Wood, Jimmy Page, Nokie Edwards, etc.

I remember spending hours on my D-28 trying to figure out the tuning used on Suite Judy Blue Eyes.

Same here. I'd end up with drop D tuning. Same with 4+20 by Stills. I even tried buying sheet music but that would rarely line up with what what the studio recordings sounded like. LOL I recall how you'd be "The Guy" if you could figure out chords for tunes that hardly anybody else could. I remember when I finally mastered Here Comes the Sun by Harris after a couple of months of going note for note on the bass line and melody I thought I was some kind of freak'in genius. And now with the University of Youtube, the world of learning tunes blew wide open. Fun!

edit -D28? You lucky guy. I hope you still have it. I had a couple of guitars I sold to pursue other hobbies and I regret every minute of it.

Steve Stills is a very underrated guitarist. Listen to the second side of Al Cooper's Super Sessions album sometime. He's on the second side because Mike Bloomfield was having issues with the H. So they had to replace him with Steve.

Nope, I sold a fortune worth of guitars for more than I paid for them but nothing like they’d be worth today. I had a 68 D-28, a 67 Les Paul Standard, a 72 Stat, and my favorite a 58 LP junior with original case. Sold that to a friend who still has it and still plays out with it.
