no idea, looks like in poor condition, and yes he's had some bad times after his football life.. he's one of those that can't transition out of the game i guess... i wouldn't buy it, he's not even a broadcaster, asst coach... it's totally out of game.

I'd say legit. Not the 1st time we seen these become available.

Edit: $280.00 for shipping? I had a watch sent from Hong Kong for $20.

Do you think the autographed photo of Dave Megget I got from a car show is worth that much too?

Legit. Have no idea who would put up that kind of money for a ring from a now no-name ex-football guy, but whatever.

Put it on Ebay with a $10K reserve price. Some buffoon will buy it.

Good. He'll be able to buy a small foreign car with the money.

That's worth selling a life acheivement.

it may be legit, but i don't like the way the seller is handling questions/answers:

Q: I will be in Greenville Thursday morning, can I come see it prior to bidding? Why is it being sold? Thanks and good luck
A: Sorry. No, all the information you need is provided in this auction.

Q: besides the name what else is marked or inscribed inside of the ring??
A: The id number and we are not at liberty to say. Thank you.

Personally, I have my doubts about this auction. Sports memorabilia auctions, in general, are dubious at best.

He sold it?

Likely it could have happened the same way that OJ Simpson's Heisman hit the sports memorobilia market.

Reposesed or something. Who knows.
