Actually, they best thing to do with Iran is to ignore them or support the student protesters. Mixing it up with Iran is not on antibody's drawing board.

Bush actually addressed this issue in a recent speech.

Does the name Hitler ring a bell?
Yup. See my post a few above yours.

I'm very much on the "pro" side for this war. However, could someone explain to me why the U.S. was uncapable of infiltrating Iraq with additional CIA personnel and elite military personnel for the purpose of "taking out" Saddam and his 5 look-alikes?

Imagine Saddam with the power weilded by North Korea now, ten years ago. He would probably control most of the middle east and a HUGE percentage of the world's oil supply. Hundreds of millions would be dead.

If we continue to let Saddam stay in power we might yet see that frightening picture finished.

Dave Matthews is a great musician, and like most celebs has his head stuck up his ass.

I agree with Desslok - this war is un-American. There is no logical reason for it - except the for the reason Bush won't admit to. And he is so egotistical he won't turn back now, so thousands of innocent people are going to die.

I'm old enough to remember when gas was 59 cents a gallon. If war is so un-American, leave the country. Let me guess you're a Democrat, whine, whine, whine. If we don't remove him from power now, then there's a repeat of 9/11. You'll be the first to say "we should of removed him years ago..."

But he is a major recording artist with millions of dollars. Surely his opinion has more strength than yours does.

WHY?! He's a major recording artist with millions of dollars because people like the way he sings, not because they like the way he talks.

Who is this Dave Matthew that people here speaks of? Oh yea, he's south african. A white south african. Someone who enjoyed the benefits of apartheid. 'Tis better for him to sing his songs than preach about politics, cause he has no grounds to stand on

Not saying that I agree with him because for the most part I don't (and I really am not a fan), but with a Gestapo Fundie like Ashcrowft as the head Law Enforcement Officer in the land it was rather brave of him to do that as he probably insured that his name was put on a list of "Un American Foriegn Residents to keep an eye on" All I can say is that the next time he buys a bag of weed he better keep an eye out.

...

illusive

\Il*lu"sive\, a. [See Illude.] Deceiving by false show; deceitful; deceptive; false; illusory; unreal.

I think good ol' Dave meant:

elusive

\E*lu"sive\, a. Tending to elude; using arts or deception to escape; adroitly escaping or evading; eluding the grasp; fallacious.

I love it when psuedo-celebrities speak out of their collective tushies. Who's waiting on Corey Haim and Corey Feldman to weigh in on this?

This part is my favorite:
Saddam Hussein is a barbaric murderous dictator. I wish the world were free of him. But the answer is not to bomb this great culture of Iraq out of existence to stop him.
You just call Saddam a murderous dictator and then say he has a great culture...huh?

Why must the children of Iraq die by the thousands to stop a tyrant? It is not justice.
This line of thinking does not hold up given that the children of Iraq are dying now because of the piss poor medical care they get in the country. The money in aid that Saddam receives goes towards his palaces, statues, monuments, and military before it gets to the children.

And if we kill him what will we achieve? We will have taken the most unpopular leader in the Middle East and turned him into the greatest martyr radical Islam has ever had. The U.N. weapons inspectors must be allowed to do their job thoroughly and any military action should be internationally agreed upon.
Hey Dave, go read the last UN Resolution. It warns of severe consequences if Saddam does not comply...which he hasn't. Despite this, Bush and Co. are pushing for ANOTHER UN resolution authorizing war. The U.S. has a large number of nations going along with it so that meets your criteria of international.

So _that_ explains your faulty logic! Hardening of the arteries in the brain... What're the rest of you warmonger's excuses? All the old farts up in Washington (and on this board) can sit and talk about how great war would be all day long, but it's today's generation of 18-24 year olds who are gonna take it straight up the @$$. Yes, Saddam is not a very nice guy, but we need to mind our own freaking business. If the U.N. votes and decides that war is not necessary, then we need to abide by that decision and not usurp the democratic process we claim to value so highly. If it does come to war in Iraq, then it needs to be the U.N. calling a rogue leader to account for his actions. Not big brother U.S. coming in and flailing about.

Right... because if you happen to be born in a country you automatically accept and condone all it's practices... something tells me that wasn't the song you were singing when clinton was in office...

He is white. Whether or not he was against apartheid, he benefited from it (more so than any black man ever did). Tell me that I'm wrong in that statement.
