i was discussing this 'album' today with my roomate and neither of us knows the true story behind it. i know its an underground cd, but the rumors vary from just some jam sessions to it being the original cd intended in the place of 'everyday'. now, if that were the case, many of the songs i have downloaded with a lillywhite session title are from just some live jams many years old, and at the same time, it doesn't include many songs that dave said were going to be on the new album w/ the 2000 tour. so, anyone know the real story behind it - perhaps some proof, not just rumors?

i read an article in rolling stone after everyday was released. It said that they went into the studio and recorded and entire cd right after the summer tour. Those songs included all the ones dave promised during the tour (raven, JTR, bartender, etc). These songs seemed really dark b/c dave was going through some depression and the like, well the band didnt really like the songs or the music too much.....so.... a little while later dave was in CA w/ a different producer, well he happened to have an electric guitar with him in the studio. Dave had never touched an electric guitar before. He picked it up and instantly loved it. During the next 12 days, Dave and the producer wrote the vast majority of the Everyday CD. Then they took it to the band and said check this out, they all loved it and the CD was produced. So yes, i can say with a good deal of certainty that there is another CD out there that has yet to be released. Hope this helps. PM me if u need more info or ?'s

On a side note, I think its pretty obviuos i love dave and the band, they rock the party. Thats why i know all this $hit about them. Some of the songs from the unreleased album can be downloaded every once in a while on morpheus. But they are really hard to find and most are just recordings from the summer 2000 tour live.

i read the same article in rolling stone, but i have problems with the fact that bartender and jtr were intended for the cd instead of everyday, mainly because i have had those downloaded on my computer way before the 2000 tour and way before they would have recorded them for lillywhite or whatever the cd was to be titled. does this make sense to anyone else?

I dl'd the lillywhite sessions awhile back from the mp3 pirate groups. Its good but I don't like Dave that much. My roommates don't even listen to Everyday only Lillywhite sessions. Much better songs on that album.

Lillywhite puts Everyday to shame... it's sad that it probably won't get released for real.

what's worse than the fact that lillywhite is so much better than everyday is the fact that since the release of everyday, his concerts have gone downhill terribly. i don't know if anyone else has seen dave this summer, but after 2 shows, i can say that he has not gotten into either of them, his jam sessions have been very short and uninvolved, and he is relying on the backup singers too much to provide some kick, which they do not do. i seriously hope that its just the fact that he has very new material to deal with that he needs time to get into the groove with, but he hasn't been up to par with every other time that i've seen him. kind of a shame
