DESCRIPTION
RIP Mr. LeRoi Moore

This show is a motherf----. Tim's guitar weeps during bartender. Dave holds back tears and cries thru the lyrics of their best songs...all on a day they probably would have liked to skip. The band plays as if their lives depend on it. And their lives probably did that night. Jon does an outstanding job getting this recording perfect. Some folks are hoping the band issues a SBD for this show. ---- that. This show captures every emotion felt by the band and the audience that night.

This is all you need form 08/08/19

Notes: And so ends a very sad day. I'll leave it to the DMB crew to say it best (see below).
Rest in peace, Roi. We all love and will miss you.

As we sat this afternoon contemplating the loss of our brother, we wondered how we
could possibly do a show today. Dave put it into perspective stating, "There's no place
I'd rather be than here with you guys right now." We cherish special memories of our lost
friend. Tonight, Dave told a story about LeRoi at a bar in Virginia where the cash register
was near the stage and LeRoi leaned on the register because "standing had become a chore".
Roi proceeded to play the most beautiful version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Dave said,
"that was the day I fell in love with him. And I'm still in love with him." It's safe to say
we all were in love with him. "It's always easier to leave, than to be left." -DM

Fantastic. Thank you for sharing.

I saw DMB on 7/12/08, so it was just after LeRoi had his accident. It wasn't until the day he died that I got the whole story as to why he wasn't there. He will be missed.

Thanks for this. It's one of the better sounding live show recordings of DMB I've heard exept for the studio released stuff. D/L peaked at almost 800kb/s too.

In the past, etree has giving me problems. It might be ther server restarting or similar issue. Try every few hours. Eventually it will work. My signature has a link to the home page for etree if you want to double check.

I am glad to hear that the sound quality is top notch. Live recordings can be hit and miss. It all depends on each bands policy.

The archive.org link in my sig rates each show, so you can usually find a band you like there and quickly find a good quality recording.

I'm also DLing the show from the 20th just to see how that was.
